Appercu du site webQuoi de neuf sur la passerelle ?

Et bien ca y est, le nouveau site web est (presque) fin prêt. On va le baptiser avec la bouteille de champagne…. en espérant ne pas trop l’abimer.

Donc le nouveau site a un but par rapport a l’ancien site : il récapitule toutes les peintures et musiques réalisées, et ceci dans une interface épurée, simplifiée, etc. Le site va remplacer l’ancien, le noir va laisser sa place au site blanc.

L’adresse n’a pas changée : www.pagazine.com.

Il y a pour le moment, les peintures ainsi que les 2 albums de musique. Et je mettrais à jour les travaux recents dans les prochains jours. (l’image ci-dessus vous présente ce que vous devez voir normalement sur le site. Si vous observez quelque chose de différent, c’est que vous n’utilisez pas le même navigateur que moi….

Appercu du site web So what’s new on the website ? Well there is the new website running from now.This is the first view today so it may appears some bugs but, a good insecticide spray should make it okay then.

What is the difference between the old and new website ? Well, the new one is a bit faster, whiter, easier, smarter than the old one… Very quick access to last paintings, the whole collection, and the songs, old one and recent one. No more no less.

The address is still the same : www.pagazine.com.

For start, i put the last paintings acrylic works in Dublin and last Oil paintings of the last few years. In the music corner, you can find the 2 first songs sets, the new one are on their way and will be updated in the next few days. And by the way, if the website doesn’t look like the picture, you may use a different browser than mine…. so enjoy the visit.

Clontarf Rd, Sur la route de Clontarf

De retour de vacances, j’ai repris les pinceaux et les peintures du voisinage. Donc suite de l’épisode précédent “painting in the rain”, ou je me suis fait tremper lors d’une peinture sur le bord de mer. J’ai donc repris la toile pour la terminer. Et c’est là ou l’on s’apercoit que terminer une peinture est autrement plus compliqué que d’en commencer une.

Le paquetage sous le bras je suis reparti sur Clontarf Road avec une petite modiufication de la perspective du tableau. J’ai rencontré du monde l’aprés-midi, comme quoi il n’y a pas que des touristes à Dublin en été. J’ai aussi fait la rencontre d’une personne qui fait le trajet sur clontarf Road et qui voudrait un tableau bien precis. Il habitait un peu plus loin et les jours de beau temps, il marchait vers Bull-Island pour aller se baigner. (Et il faut marcher un moment avant d’y arriver, surtout quand on est pas grand). Du coup quand il commençait à voir se profiler le pont de bull Island ainsi que les toits rouges éclatant du Club de Golf, il savait que la baignade n’etait plus trés loin.

Il va falloir que je retranscrive tout ca maintenant pour cette commande.

Clontarf Road footpath De retour sur cette peinture donc….J’ai volontairement mis de l’herbe folle à la place du gazon trop bien taillé (toutes mes excuses pour les employés municipaux qui coupent l’herbe à la perfection). J’ai refait le ciel pour écraser les effets de pluie sur la peinture à l’huile (spots). Et j’ai finalement reussi à poser la signature et clôturer cette peinture épisodique.

Second layerBack to business, after few days in the sun of France. Back to the Irish sun now (not so bad actually). I took my brushes back with me on the clontarf footpath with a old crapy unfinished canvas (read the full episode here), And see how hard it is to finisha painting (starting is far more much easier, and it’snot specific for paintingwhan i think about it).

Wandering in the dollymount wind i put my easel on the next bench to the first for changing my point of view. I meet pretty much people this afternoon and few tourist of course (with their lovely accent from my home country.) I met i guy too interested in a comissionned work about a scenery starting from bull bridge to the roofs of the golf Club. It remains him his early days when he was young. They were no easy transportation from north strand to Bull island and he was walking all along for a couple of swim. It was a long way (not to tiperrary) but when you are young and excited about week end swim, it’s a long long way.

He was waiting for this famous view, giving him courage for the last mile. A scenery on a sunny day with ashinny red roof of the golf club.

Now i have to make preliminary sketches and wait for a very bright and sunny day for achieving it.

canvas dryingWell, back to the other painting : I put some wild grass instead of the well manerred cuted grass (sorry for the guys who put all their love and passion in cutting the grass so well). And i made new sky (second layer) for evicting the old artefact spots due to the rain on my fresh canvas. And finally a little signature at the bottom corner saying : it’s ok!!

Petite semaine spéciale ou l’on accueil Elsie à la maison.

Mais qui c’est Elsie ?Petite présentation de la charmante demoiselle :

Elsie est “une” labrador croisée golden de 8 mois. C’est une future chien d’aveugle, mais pour le moment elle est en période de stage. Ses maitres sont en vacances pour le moment et du coup elle aussi, à la maison pour une semaine. Apparemment elle abuse un peu sur les croquettes, du coup elle va avoir droit à un régime carottes à la maison.

Elle est arrivée avec tout ses jouet, le manuel pour apprendre à dresser le chien, des ordres transmis à l’oral pour la faire asseoir, attendre et faire pipi. Malheureusement on n’a pas retenu celui pour qu’elle fasse “popo” sur le balcon, et qu’elle s’endorme dans sa niche le soir.

Pour le moment, elle est calmement allongée à côté….

Elsie irish guide dogSpecial week with special guest at home : “Elsie”. Who the f**k is elsie ? the girl next door ? No… she is a puppy dog, a future irish guide dog. Now she is in holliday at home because her walker are in hollidays too. She is a bit fat (maybe too much treat theses last few weeks ?). So here she is on diet, based on carotts….

She came with all her stuff, toys, jacket and book about how to train a puppy dog. The guy from the irish dog told us the few words she know and obey, but few are missing to us such : how to go on balcony for toiletting and how to go fast in her kennel (lovely bed).

She is sitting in her kennel and sleeping now and is a good girl.

tee shirt dublin tour libraryWell the next exhibitions are not yet planned but will be very soon, as geraldine O’brien who accept to host me at the public library in Ilac decide to make me go to the others branch library ion Dublin : So the next exhibition will take place in the 21 other branches in Dublin.

Maybe something like 2-3 weeks in Each so it means the next few months will be booked for theses 12 paintings. I surely will make a special t-shirt for this events (just like a world tour concert…) . Just a proposal for the moment, so more news after the holidays.

quizz boxWell thanks to all of them who fill-up the quizz during the Exhibition at ILAC shopping center. I have quiet pretty forms fill-up and some interrestings answers to go.

Lets have a look to the answers of the quizz :

About the art critics : you really need no degree to understand these paintings. few of them have some degree but it is only degree in taste and sensibility… and poetry apparently.

About the price : well the 100 euros-300 euros is the most ticked !! but I have few answers about the 1-99 euros. Well unfortunately theses are more expensive but i’am working on cheapest art design for the people who want to afford one. But more to come : many ideas on how to get money for buying art. And somebody want me to be famous because the 300-5000 euros was ticked….

If theses paintings where on sale… well as soon the new website is ready, you will be able to buy my paintings on-line. Or maybe contact me directly for getting your favorite painting. (new website will be ready for August…)

Which mix of style ? I have some interrestings mix here… the main goal of this question was to define a name for my style. Here are fewpossibilities :

Painting in the rain (by Pablo Sinatra).

Story of a wet painting. Well yersteday was a nice day for painting in Clontarf…till 10 Am. I had wonderfull colors and nice shaddows on the grass, but after 10, a huge cloud came from the ocean. Something big and white hidden behind the wicklow mountains, waiting silently.

So on my painting i have clouds of 9.30am horizon of 10am, rain of 10.30 am, wet grass of 11.am. A strange mixed up.

Canvas umbrellaWhen i’m installed for painting, i can’t move quickly so i decided to stay for the shower. I get my other white canvas (always get 2 canvas with you !!) and use it as an Umbrella. It’s working fine actually but my painted canvas wac completely wet and it’s not good stuff for the il painting. It result a very strange illness wich affect oil paintings: litlle white spots appears on the painting. Just like spot on mushrooms or when you’re sick.Well, I have to wait dry weather for painting another layer on it. Hope i won’t have rain this day….

spot on cnavas Peinture sous la pluie. Bon ben hier je me suis fait tremper dans la joie et la bonne humeur. Retour sur les événements : je sors vers 9h de la maison avec un super temps et des couleurs digne d’une matinée de printemps d’été. Donc je m’installe sur Clontarf Road avec le vent et le soleil matinal dans le dos. Vers 10h je termine le ciel et je remarque un léger changement d’horizon : une énorme masse blanche et brouillardeuse arrive sur moi. Je l’ai pas vu arriver, elle était cachée derrière les wicklow mountains….

masse nuageuse Vu que c’est pas évident de tout bouger comme ça, je me suis dis que d’attendre que l’averse passe n’était pas une si mauvaise idée. Du coup j’ai utilisé ma deuxième toile en guise de parapluie (voila encore une bonne raison d’embarquer 2 toiles avec soi). Donc pantalon trempé, mais cheveux secs. Par contre ma toile qui est resté sur le chevalet était en”sueur”. En fait j’avais déja peint sous la pluie avec de la peinture à l’huile mais là j’ai eu un effet secondaire indésirable : des petites taches sur la peinture. finalement je vais peut être les laisser….

La peinture n’est pas encore terminée mais dés qu’elle le sera je vous ferais signe… (vacances dans pas longtemps donc rdv vers le 20 juillet).

Private view of Denis O’Sullivan paintings

painting exhibition openingWe went to a “vernissage” last friday in Geophysics offices in Dublin. Denis O’sullivan used to work here as professor scientist and started many years ago to paint.

There was 5 paintings of him hanging on the walls. my first impression was such paintings of “Le douanier Rousseau, but not in the jungle, but on another plane.

The watercolor technic is very impressive, with very random pattern texture on the paper. (15 years of practice occording to the painter !). He talk to us about his inspiration, especially one paintin, he was really thinking about the moon, ( maybe a connexion here as he used to work on appollo mission …).

On est allé voir une exposition vendredi dernier dans un bureau de recherche astronomique à Dublin. Un vernissage de Denis O’sullivan, ayant travaillé dans l’astrophysique. Il y avait 5 toiles d’exposées sur les murs de la salle de réunion (idée originale pour décorer une salle de réunion, usuellement encombrée de poster de toutes sortes). Ma première impression etait de voir des peintures du Douanier Rousseau (photo ci jointe), pas dans la jungle mais sur une autre planete (mars par exemple).

Peinture du douanier rousseauSa technique de l’aquarelle est assez impressionante, avec des effets assez compliqués à obtenir au niveau de la texture et des motifs aleatoires. (15 années de recherche et de pratique intensive). Il nous a raconté son inspiration pour une peinture en particulier, dont la lune aurait fortement influencé les paysages. (est ce le hasard si il a déjà travaillé sur 3 missions Apollo ?)

catalogue des collections / exhibition catalogue

un paquet de toilesEt ce nouveau site ? Ben ca avance, ça avance bien même. Celui ci va pour la première fois répertorier l’ensemble de mes toiles déjà peintes. Ça va faire pas mal à répertorier finalement. Vais je les mettre en vente ?

Et bien certaines seront en vente oui, d’autres non car déja vendues, d’autres appartenant déjà à des collections particulières et les dernières qui resteront chez moi… mais les nouvelles toiles faites d’ici les prochaines mois et prochaines années seront à la vente rassurez vous.

J’ai un vieux fichier qui traine avec 80 toiles déjà répertoriées, dont la plupart n’ayant jamais été exposées….

Il ne reste plus qu’à remplir le catalogue à présent…..

What about this new website ? well on his way, and very interresting functionnalities. As the main goal is to show all my works i start to make the catalogue of all my paintings (current and early). This is a quiet big job as i already have something like 80 paintings in an old file of 2003.

Theses new one will be on sale, and others won’t be just because they are already sold or in private collection. But sure the next new paintings will be on sale.

Let fill-in the new website database with all this content…. (few hours of typing…)

Exhibition : First impressions. / Premiers retours

painting from keith harring. untitled.Je commence à avoir des retours à propos de mon exposition a la bibliothèque de ILAC. Hier, j’ai eu l’occasion de présenter certaines toiles lors d’un “conversation ex change”. A l’issu de celui -ci, une fille m’a parlé de l’exposition de “Keith Harring” dont une rétrospective avait lieu en ce moment à Lyon et dont le style ressemblait fort au mien. Je me suis donc empressé de découvrir Keith Harring, performer dans l’art du Grafitti. Il est malheuresement decedé, mais son oeuvre est vraiment fascinante. J’adhere completement à sa vision de l’art non-elitiste de la rue, de ses messages simples mais rempli de metaphores et symboles.

Son style se definit par:

  • le dessin
  • le graffiti
  • Bad Painting
  • Toucher un large public
  • Expressioniste.
  • Non-conventionnel / non-conformiste

Voila des pistes pour définir ma peinture… Car j’ai encore du mal à définir le style.
