Ca y est, c’est officiel, les dates sont posées : le vernissage de l’expo du monde du silence aura lieu le mercredi 8 juillet 2009.

L’invitation pour l’expo est en cours, je pense les imprimer d’ici demain. Aprés, l’etape trés importante va etre d’inviter les bonnes personnes.

Deja, vous, le public fidele de ce blog, des journalistes pour faire quelques photos pendant le vernissage, des proprietaires de galerie au cas ou quelqu’un voudrait devenir mon manager, les connaissances, amis et tout ceux dont je parle de cette expo depuis longtemps et enfin quelques celebrités.

The “vernissage” will happen in the BACKLOFT, just for one evening, so don’t miss this one !! You will discover all the paintings done in the last few months, known or not yet revealed.

The fresco have been finally achieved on monday 23th February after 2 whole weeks of painting. The fresco will be held in the library till end of February, so have a look on it this week; it worths a look.

La fresque est enfin terminée, avec le dernier coup de pinceau deposé lundi 23 fevrier aprés 2 semaines de peintures non-stop. La fresque restera a la bibliotheque jusqu’Ã la fin de la semaine, donc depechez vous pour aller la voir, ca vaut le detour.

First question : what is it about ?

Well, this fresco is a mixed up of all what happens here in February 2009. It is entirely made of fishes, and tell many different stories about the underwater world. This is a painting performance iaming to bring the studio outside and show how a such artwork is achieved.

La fresque est composé de poissons, et retrace mes idées du dernier mois incluant aussi des evenements qui ont eu lieu en fevrier 2009. Un mix d’histoire qui peuvent se passer dans les milieux profonds des oceans. Le performance a aussi été l’occasion de transbahuter le studio vers un endroit public et montrer comment ca se passe.

Second Question : What’s on it ?

Well, the library is in ILAC shopping Center for thoses who lives in Dublin. For the others (out of Dublin, busy and lazybones), i’ve taken some snapshots of the Fresco and put them here on the website.

Pour ceux qui vivent à Dublin, le mieux est de passer à la bibliotheque. Pour les autres (tous ceux qui ne peuvent pas venir pour de bonne ou mauvaises raisons), j’ai pris quelques clichés de la fresque et mis sur le site web.

Final question : and next ?

Well the realisation of this work was intended to demonstrate my ability to achieve a Fresco, and ability to perform a live work during several days.The painting will be proposed then to the RHA annual christmas exhibition, and will be held in many places before this end of the year exhibition.

Pourquoi tout ca ? C’est une question frequemment posée et je vais y repondre : c’est un format que je n’avais jamais testé et je peux etre confiant à present quen je propose la realisation d’une fresque de grande taille. (je sais que ca fait mal au dos et au bras droit et que ca prends plus de temps que prevu). Je prevois par ailleurs de proposer cette toile a l’exposition annuelle de la RHA, la top gallery d’Irlande (Royal Hibernian Academy).

Oui, un bonus pour ceux qui passeront a la bibliotheque ces derniers jours : des cartes speciales a emporter. Une re-edition de celles faites la semaine derniere. Elle vous seront donné gratuitement en l’echange d’un petit mot sur le panneau visiteur.

Petit aperçu de la fresque ce matin, avant la vague de bleu. J’ai eu aussi l’aide de petite mains pour la peinture de la fresque. Je pense terminer d’ici la fin de la semaine, avec normalement la visite d’un journaliste durant la semaine (a confirmer).

Overlook of the fresco this morning and this evening after the blue wave.I had a hand from children coming this way in the library. I think i will finish the fresco for friday, and have an interview with a journalist this week (to be confirmed). Fresco starts again tomorrow morning….

From monday, i’ve started the exhibition of my last art pieces in the Dublin Central Library ILAC. This is one the first level of the shopping center.

The art pieces presented heva never been showed and the selection will include “Jungle Luas” as well.

I’ll be there most of the time (most in the afternoon and evening) for the realisation of a fresco.This is about my last works about the “Silent World”. It will last till the end of the next week. You will be able to see the evolution of a painting, let few words on the golden leaf (not yet a book), buy the art piece (just in case you had any blanck walls in your home), help me to cover a bit of the canvas….

A partir de Lundi 9 Février, je réalise une exposition de mes dernières Å“uvres à la bibliothèque centrale de DUBLIN, au premier étage du centre commercial ILAC. Pour l’occasion, je présenterais 8 nouvelles peintures inédites, plus celle du LUAS (Jungle LUAS”), pour ceux qui veulent voir l’original en chair et en os (bois et toile).

Et parallèlement à cela, il y aura la réalisation “LIVE” d’une fresque portant sur”Le Monde du Silence”. La fresque va durer au moins une semaine, période pendant laquelle vous pourrez venir voir le travail en cours, vous faire tirer le portrait façon poisson, laisser un mot sur la feuille d’Or (pas encore de livre d’or !) , acheter la toile ou bien une partie (si vous avez un mur de 7 mètres de long chez vous a couvrir, c’est l’occasion rêvée!) ou bien encore m’aider à mettre un peu de bleu et de Jaune dans ce monde de Brute.

Je realiserais des photos au fur et à mesure de l’avancement du projet et vous tiens au courant.

quelques photos deja prises..

Ça y est, j’ai ma première exposition (en groupe) dans une galerie à Dublin. La preuve en cliquant sur l’image, vous pourrez voir la peinture en expo…. c’est une peinture qui n’a pas encore été montrée sur le site…elle est donc en exclusivité dans la galerie. (la photo est floutée pour donner un peu plus de mystère à cette peinture)…

Il y a eu une ouverture officielle de l’exposition mardi dernier avec tous les peintres exposant. J’ai d’ailleurs revu Niall Bracken qui exposait deux de ses toiles lors de cette exposition et qui a déjà exposé dans cette galerie avant la christmas exhibition. (je vous donnerais son site internet dés qu’il sera en ligne pour découvrir son travail).

J’ai par ailleurs rencontré monsieur Kennedy (pas le président) lors du vernissage et il est d’accord pour héberger une toile supplémentaire dans la galerie. Celle qui a gagné le concours du “Luas” par exemple. Elle est donc dans la galerie, sur un chevalet à l’étage, pour ceux qui désire voir la peinture qui sera connu des utilisateurs du “LUAS” 2009. Pour info, la remise des prix aura lieu en janvier 2009, je vous tiens au courant…

Voici une photo de la liste des toiles exposées, et on peut même y trouver ma toile qui y est listée (ça fait chaud au cÅ“ur…). Bon pour la peinture, c’est la moins chère de toute l’exposition (comme quoi je pratique des prix vraiment abordables). Finally, I have my first exhibition (group show) in a real (a place for buying paintings) gallery in Dublin. You can see the first painting exhibited on the picture beside … This painting have not been shown on the website yet, so full exclusivity to the gallery ! (The picture is called “holly night, silent night” and is a bit smudgy on the picture for more mysteries about this painting).

The official opening happens last tuesday, mainly dedicated to the painters who were showing their work. I saw Niall Bracken again, wich was exhibiting two of his paintings there and wich had already exhibited here the last month for his solo show. Niall was lucky tuesday, he won the draw and get a nice treat for buying art supplies at the art shop. So i’m lucky theses days but just not me. I’ll give you his website as soon as it is published on-line…

I also met Mr Kennedy (not the president) during the private opening, and he is ok for hosting one more of my paintings in the gallery. The one who won the RPA Luas art competition for exemple. So it is now in the gallery, on a easel upstairs. So, if you want to see the painting wich will be famous next year for the LUAS users….

Last minute information : the prize ceremony will take place next january, but still haven’t the exact date and time. I keep you in touch.

Concerning this painting, this is a very exclusive work wich include my favorites characters (fishes) , the painting price is really affordable (this is the cheapest of all the lisitng)…..For thoses who really want to visit this exhibition, this is the kennedy art gallery here :

Artist note : This is a morning view of the bathing shelter, the sun was rising and no clouds in the area. The yellow reminds me the late autumn, when the clontarf walk is not so busy than in the summer.

Exhibition in Coolock.

Well, i met the Coolock art group on friday morning. I’ve never been in any art group, was the first time and not for earing any art teacher but for making a proposal about an art creation. I have my exhibition running theses days in the Coolock library, so it was a good opportunity to meet the art group and have a chat / collaboration / live pperformance.

I will be there on the next friday for a live performance at the library, the subject will be for the “Luas Art competition”. Then we have discussed first about the Luas, and get few ideas about it.

Art performance preliminary.
I had very few ideas about the realisation of the LUAS. I was thinking of a strange monster called luas in a place crowded by cars. Here is one of the first sketches about it.
I grab few ideas while discussing with the art group on friday, with something about the wild tracks, guiness car and so on.

Next friday was the performance, i keep a blank A1 canvas with me and my pots of color. Very few memeber of the art group this morning but high quality members. So i decided to start something like cars with animals behaviour. Such as a snail-mobile for the very low speed drivers and elephant car for the representation of the Dublin Bus.
Different animals went after, then making the Luas look strange monster with severals legs and many pars of eyes.
