As last friday was a Sunny day, i’ve been out for chalking the pavement. The idea was to make a story based on cycle. Here is my first large chalk drawing “Cycles story” , close to the 30 meters long./ Vendredi etait un jour ensoleillé et propice à la craie sur trottoir. Je suis donc parti crayonner une histoire de deux roues sur le Clontarf Walk (j’ai tenté la piste cyclable mais c’était trop dangereux. For thoses who werent on the Clontarf Walk yersteday, here is the Chalk drawings ! Was a big surprise for all and i really had big fun with this serie of 25 drawings. I’m starting to put few of them on postcards in case some of the audiencestart to dig the pavement to take the drawings back home.

Well, yersteday was the St patricks day and for the occasion, i did chalk the pavement for the dubliners : here is the st patrick’s life….

Patrick grew up in Ireland and was jailed during his childhood….

Then, instead of the jail he was sent in the fields as shepherds.

He managed to get free and sail away in britain then France.

God tell him tu build up cathedral. He did it and god say’s “thumb up” for Padraig !

As there was no saints in Ireland yet, God tells patricks to go over there and convert the lost irish sheeps to christianism.

Padraig did it on the Rock of cashel. He explains the trinity concept to the sheeps with using a shamrock.

After the conversion of most of the irish sheeps, he decide to kick the snakes out of Ireland (Ireland was far too wet for them!).

Billions of shamrock did grew up then and make all the sheeps happy and ….

this is how we celebrate now all what patrick bring to ireland….

Hier, pour l’occasion de la saint Patrick, j’ai retracé les principaux évènements de la vie de saint Patrick pour les Dubliner… avec une craie sur les trottoirs de Dublin.

Patrick a grandit derrière les barreaux, emprisonnés par les vilains barbares.

Puis, devenu assez grand, on l’a assigné Ã la garde des moutons.

I reussit à s’echapper (mais il viendra pour les moutons, ne vous inquietez pas), et prend le large pour la grande bretagne puis la France.

Il reçoit alors l’ordre de Dieu de se consacrer à la construction d’églises et cathédrales. Dieu lui dit qu’il faisait un bon boulot…

Comme il y avait suffisamment de saint sur le continent et encore personne en Irlande Dieu lui a dire de repartir sur Irish ferry et convertir l’irlande.

C’est sur le roc de Cashel, qu’il explique le concept de trinité aux moutons environnant à l’aide d’un trefle à 3 feuilles. (devenu alors le symbole de l’irlande).

Après la conversions de tous les moutons, il décide alors de dire aux serpents de dégager et d’aller ailleurs. (L’Irlande étant vraiment trop humide pour eux !).

Des milliards de shamrocks ont commencé Ã envahir les prairies vertes de l’Irlande sachant leur nouveau statut de sacré (comme les vaches en inde). Les moutons sont depuis infiniment reconnaissant envers Patrick.

Et voici comment on fête la saint Patrick aujourd’hui….
