“Cheetah”

Acrylic on Board

20 x 30cm.

SOLD

An acrylic painting unclassified : cheetah. Why cheetah, where, why, how ?

As i am a regular visitor of the conversation exchange on wednesday inevening and i proposed my services to “Paul”, young PhD in litteracy/history (ok, paul is not so young but have young spirit), he suggested me the creationof a cheetah, and what is the link with the thesis ?

Paul is studying in UCD on the origin of complex french words. For example, we use the same word “mèche” for the “bit” of a drilling tool, the “lock” in the hair, the “fuse” for litting a bomb and the wick of a cande…. apparently, the origin of all theses words is the “match” used to light a candel…. so paul is finding the origin of all theses words… what a big Job.

And the link with cheetah ? because cheetah is the symbol of speed. the fastest animal on earth (110km sometimes), so cheetah is a visual message for the representation of speed. And why not the falcon…. because falcon is quiet the same in french… “faucon”.

Cheetah is a picture for representing the speed with people speaking different languages.. The origin of cheetah is an hini word meaning “variegated body”. In french the origin is derived from the italian word of cat + leopard “gettoe” +”pardo”= “guepard”

So it is, paul is the happy owner of an original artwork “cheetah”.
