la gloire “La Gloire artistique” (Bitmap on JPG). As painter is a real job, i will try to explain you how it works when you are doing this uncommon job. Here are the big steps to climb to glory as artist.

Artist, this is not a job with a salary grid indexed on age and skills. This is not working with any contact in the right place. The pension is not taken into account as well. So can we divide theses people in different category : the artists beginners, theses who are always on tv shows, theses who think they are famous and theses who only want to be famous, those we never see and theses we hear to much.

Here are the big steps :

artiste emergent Emergent Artist. This is the artist who want to get outside of the artistic ocean (close to artic ocean), . This artist really do everything to sell paintings, reach exhibitions. Hard worker, thinking about new modern concepts, he paints a lot but don’t really earn enough money cause he don’t have any management. He should prove oneself, seduce the gallery owners, find the favor of public and get the most extreme art critic…

The price range of the painting is between 50 euros and 5.000 euros. Artists like that, you will find dozens and dozens, they are called the “struggling artists”. Everyone now a struggling artist in his circle.

artiste reconnuThe established artist. This artist can do very very expensives daubs. This is a called luxury. This latter have been working hard and made hundreds of incredible canvas in many styles , get exhibitions in many renowned galleries. Corporates buy this stuff. The artist can now get pretty money with his paintings and can save a bit to go on working without any money problem in mind. Few quotes you can hear in poshy parties :

“This is a Kundelitch, it worths a million ”

“This is a daub, a very famous daub, we bought it for millions”.

Anyway, the recognised artist sell between 5.000 euros and 50.000 eurosand buyer always add a zero when speaking about their purchase.

tombe mondrianThe international artist. Most of the time, the latter is closer to the end of his life than his birth. He get a huge media coverage, especially with the paintings he had sold for few euros (damn, i didn’t bought it !).

The “famous” paint for the sake of art, not for earning his life anymore. He gives everything to public associations, charity corporates, states and museums. Critics claims him ( always the last to hear about something).

In conclusion, way to be a famous is very long and hard, but all tend to achieve this goal.

“The must for the artist, is to work for peanuts”.
