Well the opening was yersteday and was a real great start with more than 80 attendants. The exhibition is still running till thursday 11th March evening. Here is the part one of the event, you will get the part two as soon as i get the pictures of the event.
Marathon Day
Well, one day to hang and advertise, it was really tight but everything was fine for 6pm. More than 30 brand new artworks are on view on the Wall of the CFCP, 15 pembroke street (basement).
The exhibition is divided in two rooms : the first one welcome the visitors and present the different styles, awards, and exclusive new works. The second room is more closer than the fishtank than anything else : Full of Fish from all the seas but particularily the Irish Sea.
3 Oils are there to showcase what is coming next on the last week end of march at the Connolly’s sheds pub in Clontarf. All the Flyers are gone but thousands are beiing printed at the moment. The others Oils will be done during the next two weeks, plein air in Clontarf. You may see me in the neighboorhood !
I was also presenting the “I fish Dublin” Tee-shirts, wich are now available in M size at the show. I will print another serie the next few days due to high demand for tee shirts in different sizes.(order it now ang receive it by post for 16.99 euros).
Magnet paintings are aslo on show presenting very affordable fish that you can stick on your fridge or any flat metallic surface. They are crackin’ and even get a vernish layer for protecting them from all hostiles foods and sauces of the kitchen.
Advertisement society
It was a real advertisement job for this exhibition. Here are few things wich have been done :
Flyers, hundreds of them send by post and posted by myself in Clontarf, and those i (and lovely staff of CFCP) gave away in pembroke street, and the rest were just in a flyer plastic box outside.
Poster, well just one big poster but in the middle of pembroke street, facing all the street. It was really efficient.
And at last but not least, the Fish on the ground. It was a last minute idea based on fish on the ground going towards the venue. People had to follow the fish to know what it all was About.
Your Fish :
The most exciting part of the exhibition was surely the “design your own I fish dublin”. All visitors are invited to make their own fish and put it in the box. Iw ill send the gallery of the fish once the exhibition will be finished and the best fish will be awarded a special gift.
Your favorites paintings.
Here is the painting you have been particularily interrested in : the plankton. They are brand new and many of you tell me they were really great. So here is the favorite one, wich will go then directly to the lecetion panel of the RHA annual show (big great Idea of Niall).
